What is Stroke?

When there is a haemorrhage due to a burst blood vessel & When the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted by a blockage in the blood supply and that is stroke.

If a patient has suffered or is suffering a stroke, the patient may experience weakness or paralysis in an arm and or leg,they may find difficulty in speaking, they may lose their vision in part of the visual field or complain of numbness and / or tingling down one side of the body. It is always imperative to seek urgent medical advice if any of these events occur.

People with dementia can lose interest in their usual activities. They may also lose their interest in relationships and socialising. They may also lose empathy .A person with dementia may see or hear things that other people do not and we call it hallucination

Losing the ability to remember events, or not fully understanding their environment or situations happens with dementia people it can seem as if they're not telling the truth or are wilfully ignoring problems.

As dementia affects a person's mental abilities, they may find planning and organising difficult. A person with dementia will usually need help from friends or relatives, including help with making decisions.

The symptoms of dementia usually become worse over time. In the late stage of dementia, people will not be able to take care of themselves and may lose their ability to communicate.
